Just because it’s summer, doesn’t mean the learning stops!
Next Hangout: Join us at the Antler Lake Community Hall on Monday June 30 @ 1 – 4 pm for more homeschool fun and games!
Calling all homeschoolers looking to keep the fun (and learning) going through the summer! We will continue to host Homeschool Hangouts at Antler Lake, so c’mon out and enjoy the dog days of summer with us!
What is there to do?
Beat the “I’m boreds” by bringing your homeschool crew out to Antler Lake Community Hall to meet new friends, get out some energy, and maybe learn a thing or two!
At the next hangout we will explore all the things you can do with a ball – one of the simplest and oldest toys in the world can often be all you need! Kids who like having something to aim for might enjoy trying to get a few 3-pointers, those who want to organize a group can start a game of kick-ball on the baseball diamond! Or maybe you have a creative type who will come up with wild and inventive ways to breathe new life into a familiar object.
As always, joining in on any activity is optional – there’s plenty to do at the Hall. So if independent exploration is more your speed, come and see where your curiosity takes you!
Hatcher’s Homeschool Activities
Activity sheets will be available for kids to complete or take home to do later. These activities are a pet project of mine – literally! – as they are inspired by our flock of backyard chickens, and one in particular: Margaret Hatcher.
These activity sheets are also available for download, so if you miss a hangout and have a chicken loving student then print a few copies! These can make a nice addition to any farmschool curriculum.
You can also follow along on our Journey to the First Egg on our blog. Latest installment: The Brooder Bunch.
More to come
We have 2 Homeschool Hangout dates scheduled in July, so don’t fret if you miss this one:
- Friday July 11 – Let’s build a kite!
- Wednesday July 23 – Water fight (weather permitting)
These dates, and MORE, are now available in our Events Calendar. This resource was created to help promote all the great Homeschool Activities that are available in our area so families can find them in one place. Or join our mailing list to get homeschool info delivered right to you.
If you run any homeschool programs that you would like to be added to the Calendar, please contact us! The more the merrier!
Hope to see you there!
Antler Lake Community Hall is located at 1a Antler St.
Participation is free. BYO water & snacks.
