The Prairie Tide
I come from the prairies. It’s a world I know very well — a world that has shaped the way I think.
If you’ve never been, a prairie is a field of tall grasses and flowers stretching out in every direction, with nothing to obstruct your view.
The sky over a prairie seems endless.
A prairie rolls and swells and dances like the tide when the wind blows, moving seeds and carrying them to fertile ground, where they can take root and grow.
So it is with ideas.
Prairie Tide Projects was created as a place to collect and share my own work, and invite others to join in the movement of the Prairie Tide.

My Life As A Doodler
Doodler (noun) — a person who draws, sketches, or scribbles aimlessly and absent-mindedly for no other reason than that they love it.
I’ve been a doodler for as long as I can remember. I won my first colouring contest in Grade 3 (it was a Unicorn Pegasus, in case you’re wondering), and while I can’t claim I’ve improved that much since then, I still can’t stop putting pen… or pencil… or crayon, highlighter, marker—whatever happens to be within reach—to paper.
Whether it’s tracing a shadow that catches my eye, jotting down a funny thought, or drawing a silly cartoon for a friend, I’ve always been compelled to DOODLE.
After years of making greeting cards for friends and family, my mother gave me a Wacom drawing tablet so I could start making doodles IN THE COMPUTER.
A whole new world opened up.
I had too much fun experimenting with different brushes, tools, and digital drawing techniques, but eventually figured out a style and system that worked well enough to get a few of my designs printed onto cards.
Then, one day, I decided to do something a little silly:
I wrote a children’s book for my doodles.
Then I got that book printed.
And once I had a book, I needed a website.
I guess that’s why they say: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
So here we are.
I hope you like it.

Experience
Two Hands
They say two heads are better than one.
But that would look weird.
That’s probably why we have two hands instead.
A Brain
My brain came factory installed.
It may not be the best, brightest, or fastest… but it works.
At least, that’s what my mom says.
A Good Attitude
Step 1 – Know what tools you have at your disposal.
Step 2 – Be willing to use them.
Step 3 – Take a rest to eat chocolate chip cookies… with milk.
